MOAZZAM BEGG interviews about his book-
ENEMY COMBATANT: My Imprisonment at Guantanamo, Bagram and Kandahar.
Moazzam joins Active Voice Radio by phone for a discussion of his important new book. Begg offers the rarest of insights into the places and practices that have come to define the current world conflict. From witnessing the Taliban to enduring the now-recognized torture "interrogations" this erudite, British Muslim offers a surprising view of Americans. His voice and experience are a haunting look behind the headlines.

INTRO SCRIPT:
Chris Goldstein is an independent radio producer in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Chris interviewed Moazzam Begg, author of the new book ENEMY COMBATANT: My Imprisonment at Guantanamo, Bagram and Kandahar. Begg is a British Muslim who traveled with his wife and family to Afghanistan in the summer of 2001. Quickly caught up in the US occupation of Afghanistan and crackdown on suspected terrorists, Begg was captured in the night from Islamabad and began the "Kafkaesque" years-long journey through the now infamous places and practices highlighted in our current conflict. Begg is the only prisoner released from Guantanamo Bay to relate the experience in a full-length published book. Begg joined Goldstein by phone form his home in the United Kingdom"
