Your support is essential if the service is to continue, there are bandwidth bills to pay every month and failing disk drives to replace. Volunteers do the work, but disk drives and bandwidth are not free. We encourage you to contribute financially, even a dollar helps. Click here to donate.

We talk with author and poet Richard Michelson. Also, we play an interview we first aired last year with the great Studs Terkel.
Theme: Dave Brubeck, "Cassandra"
We talk with author and poet Richard Michelson about growing up Jewish in an African-American neighborhood in New York and his books for children that came from that experience. Two weeks ago, Michelson read from his newest book for children, ACROSS THE ALLEY. But he's also written other wonderful books for kids. We talk about two of them: HAPPY FEET and TOO YOUNG FOR YIDDISH. And Studs Terkel, the Eclectic Disc Jockey and oral historian extraordinaire joins us for a music-filled interview about his last book, AND THEY ALL SANG. It's now out in paperback from the New Press.
