The daily war of Israel on Palestinians is impossible to understand without knowledge of the 1948 expulsion of 3/4 million Palestinians, many of whom are still in refugee camps. The Zionist leadership had planned their expulsion years before '48.

Dr. Ilan Pappe taught history at Haifa University and is in the process of moving to the University of Exeter, UK. He supports the boycott of Israel and initiated the annual Right of Return Conferences which call for the unconditional right of return of Palestinians that were expelled in 1948.
