[7:45-40:27] The Federal Tories & NDP have teamed up to fast track a number of 'Tough on Crime' crime bills through parliament. Already Bill C-9, limiting the use of conditional sentencing has become law. Other bills include one introducing more mandatory minimum sentences for gun crimes (Bill C-10)and another that says 'three strikes and you're a dangerous offender who is considered guilty unless you can prove otherwise' (Bill C-27). Interview with Filis Iverson & Christine, two Vancouver-based prison justice activists who are working to fight the implementation of these bills.
