Thierry Meyssan is a French author and political activist. He is the founder and director of Voltairenet.org a network of non-aligned press groups. The multilingual website on international affairs gets as many as 2 million visitors a month. In July 2005, the US State Department published a document declaring Meyssan and his Voltaire Network as major sources of anti-American misinformation in the world.

Shortly after 9-11 Meyssan wrote two books: "The Big Lie" and "Pentagate", calling into question the official story of that day. While dismissed as conspiracy theory by US Homeland Security, "The Big Lie" was translated into 28 languages and "Pentagate" became a bestseller.

In this interview Meyssan gives a fascinating view of the United States from a European perspective. In a conversation with radio journalist Jeff Blankfort Meyssan talks about the US design and control of the War on Terror. He also speaks to the consequences for Europe of the threatened attack on Iran, secret CIA prisons, and the hidden and ongoing history of US intervention in European affairs.

Ambiance alert: Blankfort met with Meyssan on September 3, 2007, in a restaurant in Paris opposite the Gare du Nord. During their one hour conversation the place became more and more lively.
