Wednesday, July 16 -- A soldier who fled to Canada to avoid combat in Iraq found himself in a US prison yesterday, as Canadian officials deported Robin Long.
Long, 25, is believed to be the first Iraq war resister from the US Army to be removed from Canada.
I spoke to Lee Zaslofsky about Long's deportation. Zaslofsky came to Canada as a draft-dodger in 1970, and is now National Coordinator of the War Resisters Support Campaign, based in Toronto.
