July 28th, 2008. HALIFAX - Air Canada employees held a major rally in downtown Halifax on June 28th to protest the closure of the air base announced by Air Canada earlier last week. Air Canada workers affected by the closure - the majority of whom are women - will be laid off or forced to relocate. Over 150 employees were hit hard when they received this news.
