Taken together, the Israeli news media present a wide range of views on the Israel-Palestine conflict. The major American media present only one view: militant, "Likudnik," ultra-Zionist. All Palestinian crimes are "unprovoked aggression"; all Israeli crimes are "self-defense" or ignored. Why? A fine video (1) reviews the basic facts of the conflict; (2) explores WHY the US media are so biased; and (3) analyzes the 7 main ways the media distort the truth. Adapted to radio by KD.
Video documentary courtesy of the Media Education Foundation (www.PPPL.org). Produced for WWUH-FM, Public Alternative Radio at the University of Hartford. Feedback to kdowst at hotmail dot com.

This radio adaptation is in three parts. Initial broadcasts are scheduled for Feb 3, Feb 24, and March 17, with uploads to this database to come a few days beforehand. Producers wishing to broadcast the series over a shorter span may contact me to arrange delivery of all 3 parts.

The original video may be viewed or downloaded without charge, in mp4 format, at www.PPPL.org (not case-sensitive).

The video was released in 2003. Alas, it's just as true & relevant six years later--apart from a few details--Yassir Arafat, Camp David agreement, etc. The name of Israel's PM hardly matters, as (IMHO) the government's policy towards Palestine hasn't changed for several decades.

Photos and drawings complement the story. View them in the newsletter or on the blog--http [colon] //newworldnotes.blogspot.com

SERIES OVERVIEW -- Political and social commentary in a variety of genres. Exploring the gap between what we want ... and what they're trying to make us settle for. "Date recorded" = date of first scheduled broadcast.
