Gloria was only 20 years old when she began organizing with the campesinos of Veracruz, Mexico. In October 1999, the Mexican government arrested Gloria-Comandanta Aurora, and her husband, Jacobo Silva Nogales-Comandante Antonio. After 10 years in maximum security prisons, they have won a legal victory for their imminent release.
