Businesses and individuals are giving up opportunities to reduce their energy costs that could save them money. Why? They can’t afford the investment. Now eighteen states have authorized a new investment mechanism that can make it easy for people to invest in renewable energy and energy efficiency, often without putting any money up front. The mechanism is called PACE, Property Assessed Clean Energy.
