Audio from a rally and march held in downtown Chicago by Public Workers United, a new coalition of public sector workers and their community allies. They held a march on MLK day looking specifically at the state of public transit in Chicago.
Later in the program will here about a call for a boycott of Bissel products issued by a coalition of churches in the Joliet area. They announced the boycott at an MLK Day event in Joliet. The boycott is meant to show community solidarity with the warehouses workers at the Bissel products warehouse in Elwood Illinois who are fighting to get their jobs back after being fired when they announced to management their decision to form a union.
