This is the full 5-24-10 episode of the Labor Express Radio program.
On todayâs program weâll hear about the Chicago Teachers Union election which was held last Friday. With five candidates in the race, no candidate was able to reach the 50% mark meaning that the two top vote getters, Marilyn Stewart, the incumbent and Karen Lewis of CORE, a reform caucus in the union, will square off once again on June 11th in a second round of elections. You will hear interviews with both Stewart & Lewis on todayâs program.
Well also hear from Jorge Mujica of the March 10th committee. He will tell us about plans for National Day of Action to protest the âpapers pleaseâ anti-immigrant law passed in Arizona last month. The day of action is planned for this coming Saturday.
