Professor Giancarlo Aquilanti is a Musician, Composer, Conductor, Director of Music Theory, Director of the Stanford Wind Ensemble, and Senior Lecturer in the Stanford Music Department. His is a recepient of the Walter J. Gores Award for Excellence in Teaching. As a composer, Professor Aquilanti has composed music of the following genres: Orchestral Music, Music for Symphonic Band / Wind Ensemble, Choral Music, and Chamber Music. He is currently working daily with Bob Weir to create classical adaptations of Grateful Dead pieces for symphony.
