This episode: how do "70% off!" (is 70 the new 50?) sale signs all over the Toronto Eaton Centre, txt msgng Blackberry ads all over the subways and G20 Martial Law all over Toronto relate? How do we communicate about stuff we don't want to talk about? Why have serious "gun confiscations" and searches by National Guard "soldiers" begun in New York? When the mass media says the G20 was a "failure", what did they succeed in doing (to us)? Why should we pay our national "debt" to criminal banksters?

.The Bank of Canada (BoC)

The Bank of Canada is the nation's central bank. We are not a commercial bank and do not offer banking services to the public. Rather, we have responsibilities for Canada's monetary policy, bank notes, financial system, funds management. Our principal role, as defined in the Bank of Canada Act, is "to promote the economic and financial welfare of Canada."

Canada’s Dollar Declines Amid Global Recovery Slowdown Concern

Chris Fournier | Bloomberg Business Week | July 7, 2010

Canada’s dollar weakened after gaining the most yesterday in almost a month as investors question the durability of the global recovery, spurring demand for the safety of the greenback and the yen. Today’s decline in the Canadian dollar is “part of the broad risk-off theme,” Matthew Strauss, senior currency strategist at Royal Bank of Canada, the nation’s largest lender, said by phone from Toronto. “We saw a 24-hour risk rally yesterday. As we’ve seen so many times, the risk rallies tend not to have any legs to them.”

Mahatma Gandhi

"... I used to issue leaflets asking people to enlist as recruits. One of the arguments I had used was distasteful to the Commissioner: 'Among the many misdeeds of the British rule in India, history will look upon the Act depriving a whole nation of arms as the blackest. If we want the Arms Act to be repealed, if we want to learn the use of arms, here is a golden opportunity. If the middle classes render voluntary help to Government in the hour of its trial, distrust will disappear, and the ban." - The Story of My Experiments in Truth, pg. 446

CKLN Radio Presents Guns'n'Hosers: BK and Tony Bernardo: How To Get 'Em and Why To Have 'Em

... both men were raised in liberal Toronto households and held those values, but they later learned how flawed the central planning and social engineering model is, especially because of how power works at the top. Innocent people owning weapons or guns means always means criminals are more afraid to commit crimes. There is evidence from around the world that suggests crime always goes up after guns are banned. The people who want law-abiding people disarmed inevitably make it easier for criminals to steal from them. Criminals who are prepared to do heavy time for a gun crime before a gun ban feel like it's Christmas after one. Everything we have is a disarmed and easy gift for the taking. Historically governments have only disarmed their people to control them too. Even if people think it can't happen where they live, times change and new people in power shouldn't be given the means to do so. In a perfect world we could ride unicorns to work and wouldn't need access to guns. But, as long as criminals do then normal people should have them. School and other shootings could be stopped easier if people with guns could stop the shooters. It makes sense. Please share this 24 minute public domain interview with everybody.

Naomi Klein: Yes. I think if we follow the coups, in all of the places where the U.S. has been involved in regime change -- gunpoint regime change -- armed intervention takes place, not when states threaten the freedom or human rights of their people, but when they threaten, or are seen as a threat to, a very specific economic interest.

BuzzFlash: We saw that in the 1953 overthrow of a democratically elected, charismatic leader in Iran. He wanted to gain at least some control over the British oil concession.

Naomi Klein: Exactly. That was the first CIA-sponsored coup.

The G-20 Agreed to Strangle Us With Debt

Daniel | HenryMakow.com | July 7, 2010

According to most media reports, the recent Toronto G20 summit was a “failure.” However, if one understands that the real goal is not to repair the economy but indeed crippling it in order to impose a dreadful, new formula of “global governance” on mankind, then the G20 summit was a resounding success, albeit a sinister one. As, what was the outcome of that weekend in late June 2010? The participating nations — or should one say: the Politburo of the World? — brought forth a quite substantial closing declaration, almost a treaty, defining their brutal goals as well as their time-line.

A Market Forecast That Says ‘Take Cover’

Jeff Sommer | The New York Times | July 7, 2010

With the stock market lurching again, plenty of investors are nervous, and some are downright bearish. Then there’s Robert Prechter, the market forecaster and social theorist, who is in another league entirely. Mr. Prechter is convinced that we have entered a market decline of staggering proportions — perhaps the biggest of the last 300 years.

Harper’s pro-austerity position could seal his legacy - for good or bad: Economic debate starkly divided over how to achieve recovery

Campbell Clark | Globe & Mail | July 8, 2010

Stephen Harper has played an important role in steering the industrialized world toward a new orthodoxy of austerity. His legacy could very well end up tied to that choice: Did he help secure the world’s economic recovery or tip it into depression?
