In May 2010, Cancer Action NY published the report titled, "Disinformation Cancer Epidemic". The report serves as a basis for the conclusion that the federal government of the United States of America is controlled by chemical and manufacturing corporations to the extent that the federal health protection agencies engage in disinformation campaigns designed to cause the American public to associate a less than significant quantity of cancer risk with current levels of dioxin exposure.

The "Disinformation Cancer Epidemic" report is available at the following URL.

The peer reviewed scientific literature describes dioxin exposure cancer risk as significant and unacceptable in magnitude, approximately 1 in 1000 at current levels of exposure in the United States. We are seeking the assistance of all the good people of the Earth in holding the National Cancer Institute and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDCP) accountable for these most egregious actions.

Despite an intensive effort to motivate the National Cancer Institute to remove the dioxin chapter from its May 2010 "Cancer Trends Progress Report", the Institute has refused to make any changes. Its only response is that the information is "evidence based". We have requested a substantive dialogue with National Cancer Institute scientists concerning our criticism of the dioxin chapter, but have been denied all access to the Institute's scientists.

The CDCP's Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry has responded to our complaints concerning the dioxin exposure cancer risk information found on that agency's website by commencing production of a state of knowledge Toxicological Profile for Dioxins. We recently updated the Disinformation Cancer Epidemic report setting forth this positive result. The update is available at the URL found below.
