IN 1984, A GROUP OF ARTISTS HELD A CONCERT IN CENTRAL PART AND PROCLAIMED A "UNIVERSAL PEACE DAY" TO BE HELD ON THE DAY OF THE BOMBING, WHICH IS AUGUST 5, IN THE UNITED STATES. TWENTY SIX YEARS LATER, THIS PAST THURSDAY, AROUND THREE HUNDRED GATHERED IN FRONT OF THE NEW YORK BUDDHIST CHURCH ON RIVERSIDE DRIVE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE CEREMONIES.
