20:00 - 21:00 - 'John Steel'
John Steele was in at the beginning but has been unlucky in his DJing career. While DJing in Texas in the early 60s he had John Peel as his tea boy but an unfortunate scrape with the U.S. authorities meant he arrived back in England too late to join Radio One. He's not bitter though, and regularly DJs playing mainly English psychedelic and American West Coast music. Incredible String Band, Captain Beefheart, Tyrannosaurus Rex, Comus, The Third Ear Band, Daevid Allan & Gong, Family, Traffic, Soft Machine & Robert Wyatt.

John Peel Day on Bristol Community FM - Podcasts
BCfm gave over its entire schedule for Monday 11th October to celebrate the life and times of one of Britains greatest broadcasters. John Peel gave his last radio broadcast on this date back in 2004. Throughout the day Bristol Community FM presenters presented shows that covered every part of John Peels life, looking at his life itself, playing some of the music he championed as well as looking at his life. A life Peel style session was even featured, thanks to the Transpersonals for coming in for that.
