We've talked before about disparities in health close to home – in the city of Hamilton there is a 21-year life expectancy difference between two neighbouring communities, for example. On today's episode of HJRC, we air segments from a recent McMaster-Community Poverty Initiative lecture. We first hear from Steve Buist, author of the Hamilton Spectator's Code Red series (a series that mapped health disparities by neighbourhood). We also hear inspiring responses from Clare Freeman Executive Director of Interval House and Lorraine Chapman, Director of Mental Health Programs at the Good Shepherd Centre.
