Audio from two panels of the February 2011 People's Commission forum, Whose Security? Our Security! The first panel, CSIS â Who needs them?, features four speakers providing historical context and first-hand accounts of CSIS targetting; the panel asks the question of whose security is served by Canada's "security" agencies, throwing into question their very existence. The second panel, "Canadaâs terrorist lists, a mechanism of social and political control", takes a look at the terrorist list established under Canadaâs Anti-Terrorist Act in 2001 and other listing mechanisms used by the Canadian state; going beyond questions of procedural fairness and the merits of including specific groups, the panel looks at "listing" as a mechanism of control of populations and of social movements.
