Dr. Busby talks more about his research into low dose radiation and his work towards an accurate risk model for exposure to radiation. He says that the failure of regulatory agencies , such as the United Nations UNSCEAR ( ), and the IAEA ( ), to adopt a radiation risk model that reflects the actual disease and suffering caused by low and high level radiation, is the biggest public health scandal in human history with over 60 million additional deaths attributable to radiological pollution over the last 60 years of nuclear activity.

Chris Busby has a first-class Honours degree in Chemistry from London University and a PhD in chemical physics from the University of Kent. He is Scientific Secretary of the European Committee on Radiation Risk and a member of the UK Department of Health Committee Examining Radiation Risk for Internal Emitters (CERRIE) ( He also sits on the UK Ministry of Defence Depleted Uranium Oversight Board ( and in National Speaker on Science and Technology for the Green Party of England and Wales. Chris is a fellow of the University of Liverpool in the Faculty of Medicine. He is also scientific advisor of the Low level Radiation Campaign ( which he helped to set up in 1995.

Following the Chernobyl catastrophe Chris developed his knowledge in the areas of radiation biology and epidemiology and he presently heads Green Audit's research in the field of low-level radiation and health. He is also involved in research into the philosophy of science, seeking to explain how political structures and scientific reality interact.
