Bassel Salloukh teaches International Studies at the American University of Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. He conveys to Samaa Elibyari the mood prevailing in the Gulf states and reveals the anxiety and frustration of the Arabs towards American intolerance and avoidance of the core issues in the Middle East.

killed for no other reason than wearing a turban or having an "Arab look".
The campaign for Collateral Compassion is working to move the Red Cross and
other major Sept 11 related charity funds to extend relief to the families
of 19 individuals who were murdered in the hate-backlash aftermath of Sept
