Iraqi Student Project (iraqistudentproject.org)
"The Iraqi Student Project began in 2007 as something practical, possible, and important which a small group of Americans could do as an act of reconciliation and promise to Iraqi citizens. It seeks to make undergraduate education possible for qualified students who were studying in Iraq, are unable to continue their education because of the violence, and intend to return to help rebuild Iraq. It secures tuition wavers, scholarships, and grants from US colleges and universities for qualified undergraduates who spend at least a year with ISP in Damascus preparing for study in the US." Including this years participants almost 50 students are currently studying in the US.
