| Ilan Pappé, Israeli historian and author of "The Ethnic Cleansing of Palestine", discusses why the most prominently advocated solution for "peace" in the Israeli occupation of Palestine is a false one. A two-state solution will not bring peace, he argues, nor justice, nor will it ever happen regardless--Israel will simply continue the occupation indefinitely. Pappé discusses what he considers a more just solution, one state with equal rights for Palestinians and Israelis alike. |
| Recorded by Jase Tanner of Kick-Lite Films. Presented by Canadians for Justice and Peace in the Middle East and Building Bridges Vancouver. |
An Israeli historian, Dr. Pappé is currently a professor at the College of Social Sciences and International Studies at the University of Exeter in the UK. He is also director of the university's European Center for Palestine Studies and co-director of the Exeter Center for Ethno-Political Studies. He obtained his PhD in history from the University of Oxford.
Most notably, Dr. Pappé is the author of The Ethnic Cleansing of Palestine, as well as over a dozen other books on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. |
