Salomon Rabinovitch was the inventor of Yiddish literature, publishing under the pen name Sholem Aleichem. A recent film explores the life and times of this writer who was so significant in the culture of the Jews of Eastern Europe. Martha Roth and Mordecai Briemberg both saw the film and they discuss the movie, the writer and the Yiddish language.
