Large food companies say that steep increases in the price of staple foods are the result of natural causes like drought. A new report says commodity trading is the culprit. Sophia Murphy is one of the authors of Cereal Secrets. She is a senior consultant at the Institute for Agriculture and Trade Policy in Minnesota.
