WHEN DEMOCRATS FAVORED PEACE

United Nations investigators announced plans this week to determine the legality of President Barack Obama's "kill lists" and exponential expansion of deadly drone strikes around the world. During recent debates, both Democrat Obama and Republican Romney agreed on the desirability of remotely controlled homicide.

But there was once a time when Democrats opposed illegal, undeclared wars, and mass murders of civilians - whether by drone-strikes, or by Vietnam-era carpet-bombing.

One such peace-seeking Democrat was the late presidential candidate Sen. GEORGE MCGOVERN, who spoke eloquently of peace and economic justice during his nomination acceptance speech exactly 40 years ago, at 2am, on July 10, 1972;
