Did Lincoln slap his son, as seen in the new film _Lincoln_?
No, says Ed Steers, author of "Blood on the Moon: The Assassination of Abraham Lincoln."

Lincoln was extremely mild, and known to spoil his children. Steers and Taylor discuss the 13th amendment, the Emancipation Proclamation, and the war powers granted to Lincoln against the Confederacy, as well as the war and peace divisions between U.S. political parties at the time.
