At the end of January 1988, the Supreme Court made a landmark ruling that decriminalized abortion. The Morgentaler decision, as it is known, has resulted in the absence of an abortion law in Canada. In 2013, there is still no law yet access is not universal across the country and the security of existing clinics is under threat. Carolyn Egan is with the Abortions Rights Coalition of Canada.
