The world has seen its first ever Twitter-hosted wedding. That's right - a Turkish couple made it official by tweeting on their iPads. Whether you find this innovative or just plain depressing, it is clear that social media is playing an ever-increasing role in our lives. Many have serious concerns - modern-day children spend more time using screen media, which includes social media, than participating in any other activity (Rideout, 2005), and authors such as Sherry Turkle have wondered aloud if social networks have made us all feel 'alone together'. We explored these concerns and dug deeper into the real implications of this new technology with Matteo Wyllyamz (aka Mouselink), a New-York based author, teacher, public speaker and artist. Enjoy!
