The Virginia Interfaith Center for Public Policy seeks to mobilize individuals and congregations to serve positive social agendas, support the most vulnerable communities and interests, and advocate for social justice statewide. Faith-based social initiatives are known for emerging from altruism and redressing moral wrongs with conviction and persistence. Among the current foci of the Interfaith Center are healthcare access (with the VA Consumer Voices for Healthcare), environmental conscientiousness (with VA Interfaith Power and Light), and poverty attenuation in Virginia. The VA Interfaith Center works closely with The Commonwealth Institute for Fiscal Analysis (as well as sundry social change and faith-based organizations) to shape public policy so that it benefits the less-fortunate.
