Day 2 - Afternoon session continues examination of the Fukushima and Chernoble disasters as they relate to North America. In both the US and Japan allowable levels of radiation in food have been increased to protect commerce. The public has been presented with the "one size fits all" model for radiation induced harm yet research demonstrates that females are more vulnerable to low dose radiation damage. A mountain of high level radioactive waste continues to threaten the regions surrounding U.S. reactors where it is kept in vulnerable cooling pools with less than fool proof certainty that will remain isolated from humanity.
