Caroline from Bristol Animal Rights Collective (BARC) returns this week to tell us about next week's film show at Café Kino on Stokes Croft. Peaceable Kingdom: The Journey Home, Wednesday 28 August 2013. This documentary explores the awakening conscience of several people who grew up in traditional farming culture and who have now come to question the basic assumptions of their way of life. The emotional lives and intense family bonds of animals most often viewed as living commodities, this documentary shatters stereotypical notions of farmers, farm life, and perhaps most surprisingly, farm animals themselves. Joe Thomas is a hunt saboteur who explains that the hunting ban has been ineffective and is being ignored by Bristol's local hunts.
Jason Yannacopoulos reviews the papers including bringing a story to our attention of a former KPMG partner Jeremy Outen, about to take control of a major UK National Crime Agency’s Economic Crime Command but thankfully failing security checks.
