Nationhood and land ownership are fundamentally intertwined, and a reconciliation process that doesnât acknowledge this is doomed to fail, says Leanne Betasamosake Simpson. Simpson is a member of the Nishnaabeg First Nation. She has spent years fighting for indigenous peoples land rights. She spoke at Simon Fraser University Woodwards on November 13.
