Some words and music from bi-feminist indie icon Ani DiFranco: she talks with Rosie Wilby from Resonance FM’s “Out In South London” about how she got into the music biz and her early career — including gigs in London at age 19 that first billed her as "Arne" — why she remains fiercely independent, the challenges of touring, and the "cameo" by legendary singer/songwriter Pete Seeger on her latest (and 17th) studio album, "Which Side Are You On? (includes the title track and "Amendment”, and intro’d with a snippet from "In Or Out" from 1992’s "Imperfectly").
[There’s no "NewsWrap" segment on this week’s show, nor next week, when it’ll be the show-time-filling "Pride On Screen 2013".]
Hosted by Greg Gordon and produced with Lucia Chappelle. Correspondent: Rosie Wilby. Theme Music: Kim Wilson. Featured music: Ani DiFranco. Additional material: Tanya Kane-Parry, with the Cleveland Orchestra.
