Computer networks, Ayn Rand-ian individualism, and financial deregulation were supposed to yield eternal prosperity & democracy.

The system began to crash in the 1990s. Part 2 explores the love-affairs that damaged both Ayn Rand and Bill Clinton. It shows how computers plus deregulation nearly destroyed the economies of East Asia. And it shows how today's US economy has been propped up and stabilized--not by "heroic individuals" or computers or deregulated markets--but by China. Now what?
This is the second half of Adam Curtis video documentary "Love and Power" (2011)--adapted to radio and slightly condensed by K.D. "Love and Power" is the first segment of Curtis trilogy, "All Watched Over By Machines of Loving Grace."

"New World Notes" is produced under the auspices (Latin for "imprimatur") of WWUH-FM, a community service of that beacon of light in darkest Connecticut, the University of Hartford.
This installment is available also on The Internet Archive (www.archive.org).
