NEW PODCAST!!!- feed://www.outfarpress.com/podcast.xml (128kb Highest Quality)

This week's show features stories from NHK World Radio Japan, Radio Deutsche-Welle, Radio havana Cuba, and the Voice of Russia.
From JAPAN- Extreme amounts of snow have fallen in Japan and many other parts of the globe. Discussions are continuing on the Trans-Pacific-Partnership, with auto imports and the elimination of agricultural tariffs being the major impediments. In the run up to the referendum on Scottish independence from the UK, an argument is ensuing over whether Scotland could still use the pound as currency. A riot broke out at an Australian detention camp for immigrants on Papua New Guinea. Another week, another new leak of highly radioactive water at the destroyed Fukushima nuclear power plant- and there has been a thermometer failure in a reactor holding melted nuclear fuel rods.
From GERMANY- In response to Switzerland's vote to curb immigration, the EU has begun withholding interactions with other member states. France and Germany have agreed to send military troops to Mali. There is about to be a new Prime Minister in Italy. At least 4 Thai citizens died in a police crackdown on anti-government protests- the next day the civil court ordered the police not to use force on peaceful protestors. 2 members of the Russian punk band Pussy Riot were arrested on charges of robbery that were dropped- the next day several members were publicly whipped by militia members. The protests in Ukraine have become more violent, leading the Prime Minister to call for a truce- President Obama warned the government not to resort to violence- and the EU has threatened sanctions against high-ranking officials.
From CUBA- Protests for and against the government of Venezuela have resulted in deadly violence- an opposition leading, Harvard educated, economist, Leopoldo Lopez, handed himself over for arrest. Three US diplomats have been ordered to leave Venezuela, accused of inciting violent protest. Right-wing forces are accused of using social media like Facebook to spread false propaganda to the US about the demonstrations.
From RUSSIA- The leaders of Mexico, Canada and the US are meeting in Mexico to discuss trade, energy, and economic reform. It is the 20th anniversary of the implementation of NAFTA- David Bacon discusses how NAFTA affected the US and Mexico, and what is really going on at this meeting of the "three amigos."

I was interviewed for an informative weekly radio show Mediageek, available at http://radio.mediageek.net

All that plus times and frequencies for listening at home. It's free to rebroadcast, please notify me if you're airing it and haven't notified me in the last month, please mention the website if you only air a portion. If you just want to listen and have a slow connection, try the streaming version- lower sound quality but good enough and way easier if you don't have a high-speed internet connection. If streaming is a problem because of your slow connection, download the smaller file- it takes 20 minutes or less, and will play swell in any mp3 player application (RealPlayer, Winamp, Quicktime, iTunes, etc) you have on your computer.
TIME SLOT on KZYX! This program will be aired on Sunday afternoon at 4pm (PST) on KZYX/Z Philo CA, you might be able to stream via < http://www.kzyx.org >

I hope you'll listen and air this if you're connected with a radio station. I am still wondering how to get financially compensated for the 25 hours I put into this program weekly- any ideas are appreciated. Any stations rebroadcasting this (or listeners) are welcome to donate for production costs. You can do so through the website. Many thanks to those that have donated! No Guilt! (maybe a little)
