Please note that the Radio4All website will be moving over to new server hardware on August 2nd starting at 10 AM Pacific/1PM Eastern. The work should last two to three hours. During that time, the server will be offline.

Your support is essential if the service is to continue, there are bandwidth bills to pay every month and failing disk drives to replace. Part 2 of a classic talk from 1999 by political scientist MICHAEL PARENTI.
Last week, Parenti showed that the purpose of imperialism is corporate profits. This week he shows that imperialism's current form is "multilateral free-trade agreements" such as NAFTA and GATT. These draconian, anti-democratic treaties give corporations the power to veto any national laws that might interfere with their profits.
Parenti's brilliant, passionate, and funny talk is as relevant today as it was in 1999.
Parentis talk, titled "Globalization: the New Imperialism," was delivered in Raleigh, NC, in November 1999. Audio courtesy of Sally Soriano and Peoples Video-Audio. I have condensed this weeks segment very slightly to fit our radio timeslot.
"New World Notes" is produced under the auspices (Latin for "radar") of WWUH-FM, a community service of that beacon of light in darkest Connecticut, the University of Hartford.
You can find Part 1 (the first half of Parenti's speech) here: http://www.radio4all.net/index.php/program/75226 .
This installment of New World Notes is available also on The Internet Archive (www.archive.org).
