In the wake of the horrific deaths at the Trade Union Building in the Black Sea Port city of Odessa, and in the lead up to presidential elections later this month, the Global Research News Hour returns to the topic of Ukraine, and what it seems to be transforming into,
University of Winnipeg President Lloyd Axworthy, himself a former Canadian Foreign affairs Minister and widely sought after commentator on international issues expresses his views about the direction Ukrainian democracy is taking and the threats posed by Russian President Putin, as he sees it.
He is joined by fellow UW Administrator Bill Balan who went with him to Ukraine on a fact-finding mission under the auspices of the Washington-based National Democracy Institute.
Rick Rozoff, an anti-war activist, administrator of the STOP NATO website and frequent interview guest, expresses a very different perspective on whether Russia or the West poses the greater threat to the Ukrainian population and the free world.
