In today's episode we present Josh Ruebner speaking September 2013 at a Students for Justice for Palestine event at Boston College. He explains the abysmal history of the US's duplicity against the Palestinians, especially including by Obama, and why we all need to engage in BDS (Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions) against the brutal Israeli occupation.
Ruebner is National Advocacy Director of the US Campaign to End the Israeli Occupation, a national coalition of more than 400 organizations working to change U.S. policy towards Israel/Palestine to support human rights, international law, and equality. His current book is "Shattered Hopes: Why Obama Failed to Broker Israeli-Palestinian Peace" (Verso Books, 2013).
Ruebner is a former Analyst in Middle East Affairs at Congressional Research Service, a federal government agency providing Members of Congress with policy analysis. He co-founded Jews for Peace in Palestine and Israel in 2000, which has since merged with Jewish Voice for Peace.
This is a repeat airing from October 2013. (Regrettably, the original airing was not posted.) Broadcasters: please note that it's 10+ minutes longer than our usual time slot.
