In this edition we explore the phenomenon of attempts by purveyors of the Zionist narrative to silence the voices of those who challenge that narrative, specifically the silencing of Jews who have been brought up in strong Jewish families believing the myths and falsehoods upon which the Zionist narrative is based who then, when confronted with the well documented facts of what really happened in 1948, as confirmed by the Israeli new historians, are transformed and take up the cause of setting the record straight within the Jewish community.

Lia Tarachansky is one of those. Raised in an Israeli settlement in the West Bank, she not only broke with Zionist roots, but currently works for The Real New Network setting the record straight on the Israeli Palestinian conflict. In 2013 she completed work on her first feature documentary "On The Side of the Road." The film is an exploration of the power of denial. It questions what Israelis learn, and choose not to learn, about the 1948 ethnic cleansing which led to the creation of the state of Israel. Lia’s goal is to use the film to engage her Jewish community with the myth puncturing truth concerning the establishment of the Israeli state. Our first presentation is an interview of Lia Tarachansky in which she discusses her attempts to show that documentary and to engage her Jewish community.

Our second presentation features the remarkable story of what happened when Max Blumenthal, journalist and author, attempted to speak in Germany, and the attempts by the Zionists to silence his critical voice. But Max Blumenthal would have none of it. Here is an interview with Max Blumenthal concerning that German experience.
This Week In Palestine (a weekly part of Truth and Justice Radio) is an award-winning three-quarter-hour segment of news from Palestine and discussion of issues relevant to the Palestinians' struggle for freedom from Israel's brutal military occupation and colonization of their homeland. It speaks from the point of view of Palestinians and those who care about them.

It's a regular part of Truth and Justice Radio, aired Sundays 6-10am ET on WZBC 90.3FM, Newton, MA, streaming and archived for two weeks at wzbc.org; TJR's website, truthandjusticeradio.org, has a link to This Week In Palestine archives back thru 1-6-2008; earlier editions are obtainable from radio4all.net or by navigating through our playlists. (At this important time, TJR has been airing a lot of Palestine coverage IN ADDITION to that provided by This Week In Palestine.) We hope you'll write to us at tjr@bluebottle.com if you rebroadcast our work, or have questions or comments.
