On The Commons with me this week is Florida Representative Julio Robaina.

On The Commons is a weekly radio show dedicated to discussing the many issues surrounding mandatory homeowner associations, the fastest growing form of residential housing in the nation.
American consumers are normally protected from fraudulent, unethical and illegal business practices. Any hints of false advertising, embezzlement, price fixing, stealing, lying, cheating and all other unsavory acts will instigate an immediate investigation by the appropriate government agency. Why then don't these same protections apply to housing consumers as well? Why are homeowners who live in mandatory membership associations left to their own devices and not entitled to the same consumer protections as every other consumer?
Well, times, they are a changing...
On The Commons with me this week is Florida Representative Julio Robaina. By all accounts, Rep. Robaina is a no nonsense, down to earth politician who refuses to be placated with tired old platitudes. Appointed as Committee Chair of the House Select Committee that is tasked with investigating the abuses in homeowner associations, he is on the road, meeting and listening to the problems his fellow Floridians are having to deal with. Join us On The Commons this Saturday, November 1, 2003. We'll meet this unusual politician who is determined to ensure that Florida homeowners enjoy the same protections they are accustomed to receiving in the outside world.
