This week Back in the USSR examines the manifestations of the Israeli system of Apartheid in Palestine and how colonial regimes throughout history have attempted to conceal their inherently brutal nature from their own people as well as from outsiders. The same holds true for the United States where this past month, protestors in Philadelphia marked the 30th anniversary of the destruction of the African-American organization MOVE by police...who were willing to drop a bomb and level an entire city block in a residential neighborhood just to remove a "subversive" organization. In the second half of the program I interview Dr Michael Parenti about his new book "Profit Pathology and Other Indecencies" and get into the nitty gritty of what austerity is and how workers can defeat it.
