Sam Downie on Kid's Company dubious 'fear testing' of children

Bristol freelance journalist Sam Downie joins us again to explain some of the more dubious activities of the Kids Company charity which has been forced to close by the government. It turns out University College London (UCL) have been funding the charity to look into fear reactions and thresholds of young people. Since the results of these tests have not apparently been published it would be interesting to know which private foundation or business commissioned them.
Sam has also put in a complaint to the Advertising Standards Agency about an advert in the Bristol Harbourside Festival programme in which Dr Rosie Daniel is promoting her Health Creation courses at Bath Spa University which the University dont seem to know anything about.

Alex Pascall is Britains first black broadcaster who secured a long-term show. His was Black Londoners on BBC Radio London which started in 1974 and went on until 1989 when Alex had a disagreement with manager Matthew Bannister who had just arrived from Londons commercial broadcaster Capital Radio. Through the years Alex has commentated and run phone-ins on many topics and events including the 1981 riots which swept Britain, particularly in Toxteth, Liverpool, St Pauls, Bristol and Brixton in London. Tony Gosling worked at the same BBC radio station after Bannister arrived and the name changed to Greater London Radio and the station moved to the Radio Times offices in Marylebone High Street, so Alex and Tony compare notes. As former chairman of the Notting Hill Carnival Alex also has some advice to pass on to Bristols St Pauls Carnival organisers too.
