Yves Engler discusses his just published book, Canada in Africa -- 300 Years of Aid and Exploitation. Engler's book, based on extensive research, is an eyeopener that blows the cover off of Canada's reputation as being a benevolent country not involved in imperialist corruption nor violence. The reality is Canada has supported violence and corruption and destruction of African and other third-world countries right along side its imperialist sister to the south.
Engler notes that the whole history of Canada's suppression of third-world countries revolutions or fights for justice goes back to Canada's role in supporting the transatlantic slave trade. Canada's tactic is based on plantation economies, which included calculating just how much food the slaves needed to keep them in the fields 16 hours a day (as Phil Taylor notes).
