Unity, Justice and Dismantling the Compaore System
Interview
Ameth Lo, Senogolese Panafricanist in Canada, member of Group for Research and Initiative for the Liberation of Africa (GRILA.org) and hosts radio program Amandala.
Ameth Lo and Phil Taylor discuss the crisis of the recent coup in Burkina Faso. The Birkinabe People rose up for the second time in a year--first to oust former brutal 27 year regime of Blaise Compaore and second to oust Compaore's comrades who maintain significant power as does their elite Presidential Guard (RSP).
Lo eloquently and intelligently answers two of Phil's central questions: 1. Can the upcoming elections be a "fair fight" when Compaore's followers have huge financial resources--both within the country and outside the country, while the Sankara Burkinabe supporters lack financial resources? 2. How important is it to to know who killed the revolutionary Thomas Sankara in 1987?
