Joined by Chris Chalkley and Liz Pendleton from The Peoples Republic of Stokes Croft first this evening fighting for Bristols counter-culture and being a genuine community hub which has community as its prime concern. Creating and making space for people to connect in a city which is increasingly defined by money. What makes Stokes Croft different is its a part of the city centre which has a genuine counter-culture which values everyone, even embraces everyone but doesnt judge them. http://www.prsc.org.uk
Ricky Canty joins us from Barry near Cardiff who believes the legal & judicial system in Wales is corrupt. His protest is outside the civil justice centre in Cardiff began in 2000 and he says hell be there until he dies offering hellp to others in the courts who face injustice. You can contact Ricky on 07776 492224 or on email at pursuitoftruthandjustice@hotmail.co.uk
Christine Townsend is standing for Mayor of Bristol this year and gives us an update on the Department For Educations annual review of admission procedures of academy schools which mean increasingly that the old fee-paying schools are being funded by the taxpayer so they must serve the public not just cherry pick the most promising pupils to make their results look better.
Finally Ian Puddick joins us who has fought a campaign over many years against the City of London police and a private security firm called Kroll. It turns out police officers and Kroll staff lied and perjured themselves again and again as part of a harassment campaign against him designed to ruin him after an employee in a big insurance firm called them. Ian was then arrested as a terrorist and a drug dealer but all the charges against him were fabricated.
Ian has refused to accept this police corruption and has been successful in keeping his plumbing business going as well as his campaign.
