Our feature presentation this week is a discussion between Columbia University Prof. Rashid Khalidi and journalist Will Youmans on The Journal of Palestine Studies TV. It has to do with an attack by the Zionist watchdog group CAMERA (Committee for Middle East Reporting In America) on Israeli author and Israeli historian, Ilan Pappé. CAMERA claims that Pappé inaccurately accuses former Israeli Prime Minister David Ben Gurion of ordering the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians during the 1948 military take over of Palestine and establishment of the State of Israel. Historian Rashid Khalidi defends the Pappé statement which was made in an article published in the Journal For Palestinian Studies.

What is so interesting about this attack by CAMERA is that they present themselves as a group dedicated to accurate reporting in the media, but really function as a zealous defender of Israel including its penchant to promote a mythological Israel narrative as factual reality. Here they accuse historian Pappé of what they are so adept at doing, inaccurately citing history, but the facts support Pappé, and once again CAMERA is exposed for what it is…a tool of Israeli propaganda.

We present Prof. Rashid Khalidi and Will Youmans on the radio program broadcast of the Journal of Palestine Studies, which prides itself in accurate, scholarly examination of Palestinian history, and therefore was compelled to defend the Pappé article.

But first, we provide news of the BDS campaign and the amazing ways the Zionist community and its legislative errand boys are preparing to punish, blacklist, or isolate those of us who promote BDS. BDS has begun to be a serious concern for Israel's "leaders." This news comes from a wide variety of sources, which you shall hear.

And afterward, we discuss Senator Marco Rubio's strident criticism of U.S. spying on Israel, and what's really going on as regards the mutual spying scene.
This Week In Palestine (a weekly part of Truth and Justice Radio) is an award-winning three-quarter-hour segment of news from Palestine and discussion of issues relevant to the Palestinians' struggle for freedom from Israel's brutal military occupation and colonization of their homeland. It speaks from the point of view of Palestinians and those who care about them. It's a regular part of Truth and Justice Radio, aired Sundays 6-10am ET on WZBC 90.3FM, Newton, MA, streaming and archived for two weeks at wzbc.org; TJR's website, truthandjusticeradio.org, has a link to This Week In Palestine archives back thru 1-6-2008; earlier editions are obtainable from radio4all.net or by navigating through our playlists. (At this important time, TJR has been airing a lot of Palestine coverage IN ADDITION to that provided by This Week In Palestine.) We hope you'll write to us at tjr@bluebottle.com if you rebroadcast our work, or have questions or comments.
