This week we're joined by veteran Black broadcaster Alex Pascall who talks, in the first of two parts, about the election of Labour's Sadiq Khan as London mayor, the first Muslim mayor in Europe, in the face of a racist 'anti-Semitic' campaign which Londoners appear to have rejected.
Chris Youett is a Coventry based journalist and railway historianwho is coming to Saltford next Saturday to talk about the lessons for Britain from Irish railways. He's a big believer in the Somerset and Dorset line being re-opened and also shares his pitch for what he says is a cheaper and better alternative to the much discussed HS2 hi-tech rail project
Eddy Clarke and Rita Cangialosi from the Palestine Museum in Bristol drop in to discuss Nabka week and Brexit. Every year Palestinians mark the Nakba – “catastrophe” in English – when in 1948 around 750,000 Palestinians were forcibly expelled from their homes during the creation of the state of Israel. 500 villages were destroyed in a premeditated campaign, and their inhabitants never allowed to return. Zionist militias, who later became the “IDF”, committed massacres in Deir Yassin, Lydda, Tantura and dozens of other Palestinian communities.
