The UNSC has issued statements condemning North Korea’s testing of missiles and weapons, but as Steven Gowans explains the Security Council members, especially the United States, regularly ignore international treaties and agreements regarding weapons when it suits them. Now North Korea is demanding the UNSC explain the double standard. Meanwhile North Korea exercises its right to provide necessary defense against superpower intimidation and threats.
