Samira Rahmani, CKUT Radio, Montreal
An interview with Saleem Samad, an eminent Bangladeshi journalist who has been reporting on Bangladesh's on-going crisis of religious and political repression. Mr. Samad speaks of the moves away from the secular foundations that Bangladesh initially emerged as a nation in 1971, and the present persecution of religious minority groups such as the Ahmadiyya. Mr. Samad was recently forced to leave Bangladesh because of his reporting on these events and now lives in Canada. For more information about the persecution of the Ahmadiyya community you can visit: http://www.thepersecution.org/world/bangladesh/index.html.
